UPDATED: Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10:38 a.m.

A Syracuse University student was reportedly injured by two mask-wearing individuals during a robbery in the 300 block of Comstock Avenue early Wednesday morning, police said.

The Department of Public Safety and Syracuse Police Department are investigating the incident, just five days after a student was reportedly robbed by a man “in the possession of a handgun” near the entrance to Olympus Drive.

At about 2 a.m., DPS issued a public safety notice in a campus-wide email, alerting the Syracuse University community to the 300 block incident, which occurred at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

In a second DPS notice issued just after 3:30 a.m., DPS said a student was reportedly robbed of a “electronic device” by two individuals, both identified as male, while walking in the 300 block. The two suspects got out of a grey colored sedan, police said, which was driven by a female suspect. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene north away from Main Campus, according to the public safety notice.

Richard Helterline, an SPD spokesman, in an email at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday said the student was transported to Crouse Hospital and treated for minor facial injuries after being punched.

Police advised students to stay away from the area. Chancellor Kent Syverud’s house is located in the 300 block of Comstock Avenue. The handgun robbery was reported in the 900 block of Comstock Avenue.

Near 3 a.m., no police officers were on the street of the 300 block.

Six public safety notices have been issued by DPS in the last five days. Two were issued for the handgun robbery Friday night, two were issued for a stabbing in Acropolis Pizza on Marshall Street early Sunday morning and two were issued for the robbery Wednesday.
